Steelers' Ward Files For Bankruptcy For Bar

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) ―

Steelers Wide Receiver Hines Ward has filed for bankruptcy on behalf of the South Side bar he co-owns.

Ward and his business partner Kimberly Pitts filed for Chapter Eleven for the Locker Room Bar & Grille.

The move comes less than a month after a judge ordered the pair to repay an estimated $170,000 wiithdrawn from bank accounts at the bar.

Ward has since repaid more than $48,000 that a third partner in the bar says Ward used to buy two vehicles for Ward's friends.

Co-owner Korry Pitts was ordered to repay $122,000 and turn over ownership and keys to the bar to the third investor, Nicholas Lettieri.

Lettieri's attorney says the bankruptcy is a ploy to get Pitts off the hook.

But attorneys for Ward and Pitts say the filing willhelp resolve the debt.
