Dinosaurs Coming To Mellon Arena
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Wonder what it would be like to stand next to a dinosaur? A new exhibit that's coming to Mellon Arena could make you feel like you've travelled back in time!
"
Walking with Dinosaurs: The Live Experience" will feature a life-size Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus and other dinosaurs that organizers say will actually move and act like the real thing.
Since the dinosaurs are so large, the show could only be held at a venue like Mellon Arena.
Mellon Arena's Assistant General Manager Rob Goodman says he's seen the show more than once and knew he wanted to bring it to Pittsburgh. "When we saw the show in Cleveland this summer, we said this is unbelievable! We said we have to get it here."
Matt Lamanna of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History says the show will be a great compliment to his museum's dinosaur exhibit. "The live show complements the exhibit and we think that the two shows will be complementary and reinforcing to people."
Though the show is for all ages, Goodman warns, "We would caution for little kids. Use your best judgment."
Mellon Arena will be putting on eight shows from Wednesday, December 3rd through Sunday, December 7th.
Tickets are available at the Mellon Arena Box Office or at Ticketmaster.com. Call 412-323-1919 for individual ticket sales; call 412-642-1977 for group sales.
While tickets last, you maybe able to save $5 off the price of admission at a special KDKA/CW Performance of Walking With Dinosaurs this Friday night. Click here for all the details.
