Uniontown Apartment Fire Suspicious In Nature

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) ― Investigators are searching for clues after a fire in a Uniontown apartment building.

The four-story building went up in flames on Saturday evening.

It happened on Lennox Street near Gallatin Avenue just after 10 p.m.

Everyone inside managed to get out safely, but five families have been left homeless.

Some residents say the fire was intentionally set.

"The fire is suspicious in nature. It started in the sub-floor basement area," said Chief Myron Nyeaber, of the Uniontown Fire Department.

The Red Cross is assisting families displaced by the fire.

Stay with KDKA for more details.
