Lost Westmoreland County Man Found Safe

SALEM TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― Authorities say an elderly man who was reported missing overnight from Westmoreland County has now been found.

Police identify the man as 77-year-old John Tranchine, of Slickville in Salem Township.

According to officials, Tranchine called his family from his cell phone just after 2 a.m. and said he was lost.

Officials say he was disoriented and confused.

Police say Tranchine may possibly be suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer's.

There is no word on where he was found.
