Ex-Teacher's Aide Faces Additional Charges

(KDKA) An assistant district attorney in Westmoreland County wants to file additional charges against a former teacher's aide accused of partying with teenagers.

Abbiejane Swogger, 34, of Natrona, was arrested after an incident at the Clarion Hotel in New Kensington. Police say they found minors, crack cocaine, empty beer cans and condoms in a room rented in her name.

Swogger was in the lobby when police arrived. She is facing drug and corruption of minors charges.

Assistant District Attorney Leo Ciaramitaro wanted to amend the criminal complaint to include two counts of interference with the custody of children and three counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

Defense Attorney Duke George said he was "blind-sided" by the additional charges and asked for the preliminary hearing to be continued.

The judge granted his request.

Swogger remains behind bars.
