IRS Holding Unclaimed Refunds Worth $124 Million

PHILADELPHIA (KDKA) ― With the holidays just around the corner, we could all use some extra money in our wallets; but thousands of Pennsylvanians have money waiting for them and may not even realize it!

The Internal Revenue Service is holding federal income tax refunds totaling about $124 Million.

The Postal Service returned the refunds to the IRS due to incorrect or outdated addresses.

Across Pennsylvania alone, over 3,000 taxpayers didn't get their refunds – which average nearly $1,200. Here in the Pittsburgh area, the IRS owes refunds worth a total of over $337,000 to some 450 people.
