DA: No Evidence Of Brutality In Taser Case

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Allegheny County District Attorney says that despite witness accounts, there's no evidence of police brutality in the case of a man who died after he was tased by Swissvale Police.

The Medical Examiner has not yet determined the manner or cause of death for 37-year-old Andre Thomas.

DA Stephen Zappala says medical evidence has not supported witness accounts of police brutality during the incident that happened early Tuesday morning.

FBI agents are expected to speak with some of the eyewitnesses because they have been reluctant to talk to county investigators.

Zappala says Thomas was taken to Braddock by a friend and when the friend brought him back to Swissvale he was paranoid about somebody out to get him and acted irrationally.

He was tased three times before he calmed down, according to police.
