Pet Store Offers $1,000 Reward For Puppy's Return

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) ― A pet store in Monroeville is offering a $1,000 reward for the safe return of one of its puppies.

Authorities say someone smashed the glass on one of the kennels at the Petland store in in the Miracle Mile Shopping Center and stole a male English bulldog puppy.

Officials have been reviewing surveillance tape from the store and questioning employees to see if they noticed anything suspicious before the heist.

They say they're worried for the puppy's safety.

"We just hope the puppy is safe because they did break the window with the dog in the window," Petland General Manager Kristen Jordan told KDKA.

The 14-week-old puppy was for sale for $3500.

Since he was the only animal taken, authorities are asking employees if anyone seemed to be especially interested in the bulldog.

Authorities say the dog is white with a brown and black patch over one eye and weighs 18-pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
