Just a couple of weeks ago, it seemed like the Steelers season was all but over following five consecutive losses.
But after wins over the Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens, their playoff hopes are still alive and Steelers nation couldn't be happier.
It was another emotional rollercoaster ride for fans as the Steelers took on the Ravens Sunday afternoon at Heinz Field.
At times, the Steelers gave fans hope and lots to cheer for at Hines Ward's South Side 86 Tavern. But there were other moments in the game when frustration led to silence causing some to wonder if the season was over for the black and gold.
In the end, the defense came alive and put the Ravens away.
"They started sacking people left and right," said fan Josh Pancost. "Ziggy Hood finally got a sack today, I knew we had it."
"It was never really in doubt," added fan Matt Shimmel. "We had a rough start to the second half, but we came through, just like last week."
This was an especially difficult game for fans.
"One minute we're up, next minute we're down," said fan Mike Manning. "It's hard to be a Pittsburgh fan, but you gotta be a Pittsburgh fan."
No doubt the Steelers dodged several bullets.
The Ravens should have scored two touchdowns, and then they intercepted a Roethlisberger pass that ended up being a penalty.
"It got a little nerve wracking with those, but that made me feel better to see we [were] getting those breaks that we need," said fan Harry Tsang.
With the win over the hated Ravens, the Steelers go to 8-7 with their playoff hopes are still alive - though maybe on life support.
"It was crazy because everybody around the league is doing what they've got to do to get us into the playoffs," said fan Jason Anderson. "I just wanted to make sure my team came through and they did."
