Steelers Fans Honor Cope, White, Holmes In Tribute

Today declared Black & Gold Day

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Steelers are back at practice today to prepare for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

The team is holding a practice session this afternoon before hosting the Texans on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Heinz Field.

But before the game, a special tribute has been organized to honor members of the Steelers family who passed away this year.

Ernie Holmes and Dwight White, members of the Steel Curtain, along with legendary broadcaster Myron Cope will be honored with a video tribute, moment of silence and Terrible Towel hold.

The Steelers are asking fans to arrive early to participate.

Also, to get everyone ready for the Steelers regular season, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl has declared today Black and Gold Day in the 'Burgh.

He is encouraging fans to wear their Steelers gear and show off their support for the team.
