Police Seek Brazen Squirrel Hill Burglars

SQUIRREL HILL (KDKA) ― Pittsburgh Police say they are looking for two people involved in a burglary spree in Squirrel Hill.

According to investigators, the burglars are going into homes after midnight while people are asleep.

"Thus far we've been lucky, there have been no confrontations with either of these burglars," Detective Michael Pilyih said. "But there's always a potential of serious consequences if either of these guys meet up with a homeowner."

Police say once the thieves are inside, they steal credit cards. In the last incident, they went to three Walmarts in one night, buying thousands of dollars worth of electronics. They drove off in a minivan.

The burglaries are happening after 1 a.m. and the credit cards are being used within the hour. Police hope a store surveillance picture of the suspects will help the public to identify them.
