South Side Business Owner Hit By Crime Twice

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Pittsburgh police are investigating two crimes on the city's South Side within a block of each other.

One of the crimes was a robbery and the other was a burglary.

One of the victims, ironically, found himself directly involved in both crimes.

Justin Polencsar had his tattoo parlor in the 2000 block of Carson Street trashed this week.

He told KDKA that whoever broke in, smashed a lot of stuff, and took all of their tattoo supplies, needles, ink, etc.

He's closed his shop for the time being, until he get more supplies.

Polencsar says he's received a lot of support from his friends, and neighbors.

One of his competitors has put up a $500 reward to help find the person(s) responsible for trashing his business.

Only three weeks ago, Polencsar was with his wife, and some friends walking a block from his store when a man brandishing a handgun approached them, took the women's purses, and threatened to kill Polencsar when the store owner went for his cell phone, to call 911.

About his recent round of bad luck, Polencsar said, "It just doesn't seem real, it seems like Hollywood or watching a TV show.  You don't realize that it happens daily to a lot of people."
