Snow Advisory In Effect For Parts Of Western Pa.
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Winter may officially be over, but snow is in the forecast for this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a snow advisory for Armstrong, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Crawford, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, and Venango counties until 9 a.m.
"Rain arriving by Midnight, changing over to wet snow on toward maybe 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. as temperatures start to trend down," KDKA Meteorologist Jon Burnett said. "Breezy, cold, winds will pick up after midnight and our lows will bottom out in the mid-to-upper 20s."
Most places in the Pittsburgh area will see 1 - to 3 - inches of snow. Areas north and east of Allegheny County could see more.
"Northern Butler County and up into ... Crawford County and Erie County you'll see 2 - to 4 - inches. Three to six over in the higher elevations to our east with 2 - to 4 - inches expected through parts of Somerset and Bedford county."
On Easter Sunday, lows will dip into the 20s and highs are expected to reach the mid-30s.
