Criminal Complaint Sheds Light On Fatal Stabbing
SHADYSIDE (KDKA) ―
A criminal complaint is revealing new details in the stabbing death of a young woman in Shadyside.
Pittsburgh Police have charged Terrence Andrews, 38, with criminal homicide.
Andrews is accused of bludgeoning his neighbor, Lisa Maas, 18, with a pair of scissors in her apartment in the 4700-block of Centre Avenue on Thursday night.
According to the criminal complaint, Andrews told investigators that he spoke to Maas earlier that day and she told him "he stunk," and that she "always looked down on me and treated me like dirt."
This upset him and Andrews said he planned to kill her with a pair of scissors, according to the criminal complaint.
He allegedly waited for Maas to come home, grabbed the scissors and knocked on the door of her fourth-floor apartment. When she answered, he forced his way inside and began his attack.
Maas fought back, stabbing him with a steak knife. Andrews put the victim on the couch while she choked on her own blood, and according to the complaint, he allegedly put "something" in her mouth.
She died after he left the apartment, according to the complaint.
When police arrived at the scene, the complaint indicates that Andrews was allegedly covered in blood and told the officers "Take me to jail, I did it."
Police went inside and found the victim. She was pronounced dead at 9:10 p.m.
The complaint says that Andrews said to police that he told his doctor to put him in Western Psych, his "medication wasn't working," and "told people I was going to kill someone."
He also allegedly asked officers if Pennsylvania had the death penalty.
