Seneca Valley Board To Teachers: Bring Best Offer

HARMONY (KDKA/AP) ―

The Seneca Valley School Board says they'll vote tonight if striking teachers give them their "best offer" to end a teachers' strike that began Oct. 15.

Tom King, the district's chief negotiator, says he won't guarantee the board will accept the offer, but he promised a vote on it.

However, the union calls that a publicity stunt.

The district says it is offering 4 percent annual raises over five years, but says the teachers' union wants 6 percent raises.

The 575 striking teachers serve about 7,600 students in the district that serves Cranberry and surrounding communities in Butler County.
