Striking Seneca Valley Teachers, Board To Meet

HARMONY (KDKA) ―

Striking teachers and district negotiators at a western Pennsylvania school district plan to meet for the first time since the strike began.

Teachers at Butler County's Seneca Valley School District went on strike Monday. Both sides plan to meet Wednesday afternoon.

The district says it's offering a 4 percent annual pay increase, but that teachers want 6 percent in each year of the five year contract.

It's the first time in more than two decades the district's 575 teachers have gone on strike.

The district has about 7,600 students.
