Two Intruders Lock Ross Twp Woman In Closet

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― Two men barged into a Ross Township woman's home, shoved her in a closet and told her not to come out or they would kill her.

Police say it happened at about 7 p.m. last Friday at a home on Wanker Drive.

"Apparently two white males came to the rear of a residence. The elderly female there greeted them at the rear door," Ross Township Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp said. "They asked if they could come in to use the phone, stated that they knew one of the other occupants of the house. She let them into the house to use the phone. At that time they forced her into a closet."

Police say the woman was in the closet for about 10 minutes while the men rummaged through the house. Some items were taken but a list is still being developed.

Investigators say the person the intruders were looking for lived with the woman.

"He wasn't home at the time and the initial investigation with him he wasn't able to give an identity who he believed it was," Kohlhepp said.

The men approached the house on foot.

Police say they have developed some leads but they say they aren't close to an arrest yet.
