Woman Goes On Shopping Spree After Alleged Theft

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― Police are looking for a woman who entered the Kane Regional Hospital on McIntyre Road in Ross Township and allegedly stole a victim's wallet.

The same woman later used stolen credit cards from the wallet to make unauthorized purchases at several McKnight Road businesses in excess of $2,000.

"She was also dressed in a nurse's scrub uniform.  At this time it's undetermined if she is a nurse or if she just dressed as a nurse to commit the crime," Allegheny County Police Detective Jarret Kaspryszyn said.

The fraudulent purchases included gift cards, clothes, Wii games and lots of cigarettes from places like K-Mart, Target, Giant Eagle and Home Depot.

A store security camera took photographs of the woman as she casually walked into and out of the Kane facility.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at 412-255-8477.

Information that leads to an arrest could be worth up to $1,000.
