Rooney Brothers Speak Out On Steelers' Sale

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― All week rumors have been swirling about a possible Steelers' sale.

Now, many of the Rooneys are speaking out about just what they are thinking.

KDKA's Kym Gable caught up with Art Rooney Jr. at a book signing at Borders book store in the North Hills.

He was there promoting his family memoir that explores the history of a football dynasty.

This ownership shakeup is a page in his life he never anticipated.

He admits there are differences of opinion, but he insists the Rooneys will emerge unified, even those siblings who live out of town.

"It really bothers me when I hear people say the out-of-towners don't love the Steelers," said Art Jr. "They love the Steelers. They wish they were here on the North Side, in Pittsburgh anyway, and involved with the team. But that wasn't possible and my dad knew that."

As the brothers shop around their shares, Chairman Dan Rooney told KDKA's Jon Delano today, that integrity is paramount.

"I think that's the important thing," said Dan Rooney. "We're working to keep things on a high level and one that we can do. We have some differences, no question about that, but I don't think it's at a point where there's major trouble right now."

Both, Dan and Art Jr. agree that whatever happens, the fans won't notice the difference.
