Suspect's Wife Questioned, Charged With Homicide

INDIANA TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― The wife of Robert Korbe, the man whom police originally took into custody, is now charged in the death of an FBI agent.

Officials have charged Christina Korbe with homicide for the shooting that claimed the life of FBI Special Agent Samuel Hicks this morning in Indiana Township.

Special Agent Hicks, 33, of Alverton, Pa., was shot and killed while executing a federal search warrant associated with a drug distribution ring in Indiana Township.

Earlier today, Robert Korbe told reporters he didn't do it.

"They shot their own guy," he said.

Meantime, as police retrieved evidence bags from Korbe and his wife, Christina, defense attorney Sumner Parker says the Korbes may have believed they were the victims of a home invasion.

"The general count of criminal homicide would, I believe is going to be filed against Mrs. Korbe," he said. "And I do not believe that that count – that a count like that would be filed against Mr. Korbe – at least I've been given no indication."

When asked directly whether Mrs. Korbe fired a gun this morning, Parker would not answer the question, but said his client did what she thought was necessary in what she thought was a chaotic situation early in the morning.

Mrs. Korbe was questioned at Allegheny County Police headquarters and was taken away on a stretcher.
