Cuts Could Affect Port Authority T Service

A consultant is reportedly recommending that the Port Authority cut at least 20 under-used stops to speed service

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― More cuts could be on the way for the Port Authority of Allegheny County – and some of them could impact commuters who rely on the T.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a consultant is recommending that the transit authority eliminate at least 20 stops along the light rail system.

The consultant reportedly says that the stops generate less than four-percent of ridership – and doing away with them would help speed service.

The Port Authority says it will present its plans to the public over the next several months.
