Port Authority Clarifies Changes For G-20 Summit
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Public transportation will be extremely limited into the city during the G-20 Summit; so today, the Port Authority explained some of the restrictions that will be put in place.
At this morning's Port Authority meeting, CEO Steve Bland clarified some concerns getting around using bus service.
Officials say bus service will run within the Golden Triangle, but it will face alterations because of the summit.
Also, there will be no Port Authority shuttles offered from parking facilities, but officials are stressing that they believe people will still be able to get around.
"We will have tons of regular transit service going past those locations; so, certainly, anyone parking in the perimeter lots will have a number of choices for the G-20 event," Bland said.
Bus service will run on different loops through the downtown area.

Meanwhile, the T line will run regular service until it gets to First Avenue, and then users will have to get off.
But the 33X bus will then provide service from First Avenue into downtown.
And there were also some concerns voiced over the East Busway.
Those routes will not service the station between Herron Avenue and Penn Avenue; so, in order to connect to the busway users will have to go into the Strip District and board at Herron Avenue.
