Port Authority Bus Hits Truck In Forest Hills

Four people on the bus were taken to hospitals with minor injuries

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Police are investigating an accident in Forest Hills involving a Port Authority bus.

A Port Authority spokesman tells us the driver of the 68D, Braddock Hills Express, was heading outbound on Ardmore Boulevard when he hit a pickup truck.

The truck driver tells us they were driving side by side along Ardmore, when the bus driver unexpectedly tried to make a U-turn from the right lane.

Truck driver Lee Detrie told KDKA, "He kept coming over in front of me, he wouldn't stop and he forced me off the road into oncoming traffic."

Detrie, who was on his way to the hospital to pick up his wife, says he feels very fortunate that he was not hurt.

The bus driver was not hurt either, however, four people on the bus were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

They were complaining of neck and shoulder pain.

Passengers told us the driver missed a turn and was unfamiliar with the route.
