Funds Set Up & Benefit Held For Explosion Victims

PLUM BORO (KDKA) ― A basketball game match-up between the coaches and staff of the Plum Borough School District and the Pittsburgh Steelers will help to benefit the family whose little girl was hurt earlier this week in a house explosion.

Plum Borough School District spokeswoman Dawn Check tells us that a portion of the proceeds made at the 'Stars In Action' game tonight will be donated to the Pettinato family.

The game will feature members of the Pittsburgh Steelers Footballers Basketball Team.

Check say the game was scheduled prior to Wednesday's explosion and officials decided to donate some of the proceeds to the family after the blast rocked the neighborhood.

The game is set for tonight at 8 p.m. Admission is $7.

On Wednesday, 4-year-old Gianna Pettinato was injured in the blast. Her grandfather died from his injuries, and the house was leveled.

Meanwhile, several funds have now been set up to help the Pettinato family:

OR
