Families displaced by the deadly natural gas explosion in Plum Boro returned to their homes to survey the damage.
Evacuees spent the night in hotels or with friends and family after a house in the 100-block of Mardi Gras Drive exploded, killing 64-year-old Richard Leith and injuring 4-year-old Gianna Pettinato.
The blast shook nearby homes - knocking out windows and spreading debris around the Holiday Park neighborhood.
Diane Fulmer stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Plum Boro which was paid for by Dominion Peoples Gas. She returned to her house just after 9 a.m. to find her home in disarray.
"I think it looks worse. Although yesterday looked bad when they were trying to the fire out, but now you can get a good look at everything and it's bad," she said. "It's too many houses."
Fulmer, who lives next door to the obliterated house, found broken windows, dishes and items scattered all over the place.
For other people in the neighborhood, home will likely be somewhere else. Some residents packed up what belongings they could until they can return to stay.
Gas service has been restored to all but 8 of 42 homes.
