More Of "Pittsburgh's Hidden Treasures" Revealed
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Thousands of people showed up during the taping of Pittsburgh's Hidden Treasures this past summer with their "stuff" in hand to get it appraised by experts.
This evening, fans of the special will get to see the results in a new installment of the popular antiques appraisal show.
In the last installment, Jim Waychoff's high-quality World War I memorabilia, including an airplane propeller, was a big hit. The propeller was appraised at around $80,000.
In this latest edition, viewers can meet several local people who have personal mementos from John F. Kennedy.
Also, Becky McConville, from Lower Burrell, brought in a mint condition Reginaphone from the late 1800s.
Meanwhile, for rock 'n roll fans, George White, of Verona, brought in a Fender Stratocaster Guitar, which is one of the most popular instruments among the real guitar heroes.
Finally, Carol Waychoff, from South Park, brought in the hit of tonight's show a unique armoire that was appraised for a small fortune.
Last August, a small army of History Center appraisers determined the value of all of the items and KDKA-TV was there to document who hit the jackpot and who did not.
Viewers can tune in Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. on KDKA-TV for the second episode in the second season of Pittsburgh's Hidden Treasures, An Antiques Appraisal Show.
