Penn State Wraps Up Regular Season With 42-14 Win
EAST LANSING, Mich. (KDKA/AP) ―
Penn State wrapped up its season this weekend with a 10-2 record and now they are lobbying for an at-large spot in a BCS bowl game.
They have an outside shot after beating Michigan State 42-14 on Saturday, but it could be tough after losses to Iowa as well as automatic qualifier Ohio State.
The game was tied 7-7 at halftime, but Penn State pulled away in the third quarter for the victory.
The Nittany Lions' Daryll Clark passed for 310 yards and four touchdowns in the win. He moved into first place in the school's record book with 23 TD passes in a season and 42 in a career.
Also, Evan Royster gained 114 yards on 13 carries.
For the Spartans, Kirk Cousins completed 16 of 28 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown. He was intercepted twice.
Penn State will now wait to learn of its postseason destination. Michigan State is bowl-bound too.
