Talk Of Closing Schools Upsets Penn Hills Parents

PENN HILLS (KDKA) ― Plans to restructure elementary schools in Penn Hills have upset parents.

During a school board meeting, dozens of parents expressed their disapproval of the possibility of their children attending a different school.

While the speakers acknowledged the district's financial problems - a $5 million shortfall - they say they're concerned about their kids.

School Board President Erin Vecchio stresses that nothing is set in stone and that the plan the school board votes on may change several times.

The board is expected to vote on Thursday.
