Brother & Sister Killed, Mom Wounded In Penn Hills

PENN HILLS (KDKA) ― A brother and sister are dead and their mother was injured in Penn Hills Tuesday night and now a suspect is behind bars.

Naim Drake, 14, a ninth grader at Linton Middle School, and Ieisha Drake, 18, a 2008 graduate of Penn Hills Senior High School, were found inside a townhouse on Relative Drive in Penn Hills.

Their mother, who was also injured, remains hospitalized.

It happened around 9:40 p.m.

"Friends of the victims stopped to check on their welfare. Upon going into the apartment, they found three people injured," said Chief Howard Burton, of the Penn Hills Police.

Overnight police arrested 40-year-old Keith Scott in connection with the incident.

Police say they believe Scott attacked the three while they were sleeping and then took off with their car.

He's facing two counts of homicide, aggravated assault, attempted homicide and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The vehicle Scott was driving has also been recovered.

Acting Superintendent Dr. Joseph Carroll, of the Penn Hills School District, said in a statement, "I would like to express our sadness over the recent events involving members of the Penn Hills School District family. My deepest sympathies go out to everyone affected by this tragedy. They are in our hearts and thoughts, and I want them to know that the School District stands ready and willing to assist them in any way that we can."
