Pens' Fans Optimistic About Game 5 Against Flyers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Philadelphia Flyers handed the Penguins their second loss of the playoffs on Thursday night.

The Pens missed out on a chance to sweep the Flyers in the Eastern Conference Finals with that 4-2 loss.

But most fans say they believe the Penguins are going to get the job done in Game 5 on home ice at Mellon Arena this Sunday. Then, it's on to the Stanley Cup finals.

"The game made me a little bit mad because I hate the Flyers more than any other team in the NHL. To see them lose and go down three-nothing in the first period was kind of disappointing," said Pens fan, Joey Olszewski, of Washington Township.

"The Flyers were real dirty with their play and I think that we're going to get them back in Game 5," said Pens fan, Brandon Colamini, of Leechburg.

And some fans said they did find things to get excited about in last night's loss like Jordan Staal's performance following his grandfather's funeral earlier this week in Canada.

"Amazing after what he had to deal with his grandfather," said another fan. "Absolutely, I love it."

Meanwhile, fans say they think the key to winning in Game 5 is solid play from the Penguins scoring stars like Evgeni Malkin and Marian Hossa.

Faceoff for Game 5 at Mellon Arena is set for 3:08 p.m. The game, weather-permitting, will once again be shown on the LCD big screen outside the Igloo.
