Sidney Crosby was held pointless for the fourth straight game and Marc-Andre Fleury was yanked at the beginning of the second period as the San Jose Sharks shutout the Penguins Saturday night.
Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov made 27 saves in the 5-0 rout of the Pens at HP Pavilion.
Joe Pavelski had a goal and an assist in his first game back from the injured list, while Dan Boyle, Dany Heatley, Jamie McGinn and Manny Malhotra also scored for San Jose.
McGinn opened the scoring for San Jose when Jed Ortmeyer forced a turnover at the blue line that sprung McGinn up ice with a blind pass. McGinn's second-effort shot from a bad angle got past Fleury.
The Sharks then came though on a power play. Boyle fired a pass from the point that Pavelski redirected past a helpless Fleury.
San Jose dominated play in the opening period, outshooting the Pens 13-3.
Midway through the first period, Nabokov made a strong save on a one-timer by Bill Guerin on the power play. He also turned away 12 shots in the second.
Also, defenseman Kris Letang left the game early in the first period, holding his right arm awkwardly, and did not return. The Pens are already missing Evgeni Malkin, Sergei Gonchar, Tyler Kennedy and Max Talbot to injuries.
San Jose knocked Marc-Andre Fleury out at 1:41 into the second period. Boyle wove through the Penguins defense on a long rush up ice before beating Fleury with a wrist shot that made it 3-0.
But back-up Brent Johnson allowed a quick goal to Heatley and the Sharks took a 4-0 lead.
Sharks enforcer Jody Shelley got into a pair of fights in the third period with Jay McKee and Eric Godard. The first led to a power-play goal by Malhotra.
The loss marks the first time in 42 regular season games under coach Dan Bylsma that the Pens have gone consecutive games without a point. They lost to the Los Angeles Kings 5-2 on Thursday night.
The Penguins end their road trip Tuesday night when they faceoff against the Boston Bruins at 7 p.m.
