Road Work Could Cause Delays This Weekend

(KDKA) Those headed out this weekend should expect delays and detours if their headed in the area of the Parkway East. 

The outbound lanes between the Churchill and Monroeville exits are closed for weekend construction through Sunday afternoon.

Officials say traffic leading up to that complete closure will be reduced to one lane starting at the Edgewood-Swissvale exit.

Also, traffic along I-79 southbound will be down to one lane on Sunday morning at the I-279 spilt in Franklin Park.

Officials say lane restrictions will begin at midnight and continue till noon.

Traffic could be completely stopped for up to 15 minutes during the work.

During that time, officials say crews will be installing an overhead sign.
