Onorato Urges Completion Of Pittsburgh Casino

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato is making a plea to state gaming officials.

Onorato says he is tired of delays in the construction of Pittsburgh's first casino.

Onorato says he wants shovels in the ground and for the project to be backed by a reliable owner.

He says he wants the gaming board to do its job and award a license to a responsible party in a timely manner.

"That's really the most important thing to me," said Onorato. "It's not who owns it. It's that whoever gets license is legitimate, financially sound and can live up to the commitments that have been made."

Onorato says he want the casino to get back under construction and completed by next summer.
