Robinson Twp. Police Officer To Face Trial

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― A Robinson Township police officer charged with several sex offenses will stand trial.

Nigel Hodges is accused of grabbing and kissing a bartender in North Fayette Township and then exposing himself to her.

The bartender says the incident happened at Tavern With The Lights on Montour Church Road last month.

According to the police report, Hodges asked the bartender for a drink then blocked a kitchen door so she couldn't get away, grabbed her and kissed her.

At a court appearance, Hodges waived his right to a preliminary hearing, agreeing to let the case go to trial.

The judge agreed to drop the charges of official oppression and unlawful restraint, but Hodges is still facing charges of indecent assault, indecent exposure and harassment.

Hodges is a seven-year member of the Robinson Police force. His lawyer says his client's record is clean.

Hodges will remain free on bond while he waits for his trial.

Shortly after his arrest, Robinson Township Commissioners voted unanimously to place Hodges on administrative leave until this whole situation is straightened out.
