The jury in the trial of Steeler Najeh Davenport has found him not guilty on all counts.
He was accused of punching and slapping the mother of his child, Anita Person, last fall in Cleveland, Ohio.
Davenport was acquitted of domestic violence, unlawful restraint and endangering children charges.
He took the stand in his defense before the case was handed over to the jury.
"I never hit her, slapped her, kicked her, punched her or slammed her," he testified. "She stated that I slammed her with my son - that's not me."
It may have helped his case.
"In all my dealings with Najeh, he's always conducted himself with class and style and I want to make sure that being a little emotional here, that the image of him is not accepted the way he really his," Patrick D'Angelo, Davenport's attorney, said. "He's a good old southern man and he's a mama's boy and he's a good guy."
As the jury looked at what happened last October, they apparently believed there was enough blame to go around on both sides.
