Local Businesses Raided For Suspected Prostitution

MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― An undercover operation that's been going on for months came to a head Thursday night when authorities raided businesses in Moon Township and Monroeville for suspected prostitution.

Authorities executed search warrants at three locations in Moon Township - the Pine Tree Spa, Sport Spa and an apparent residence at 543 Carnot Road.

The fourth location was the Jade Heart in Monroeville.

With the help of the Allegheny County Sheriff's office, FBI and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, multiple arrest were made simultaneously at all these places where police suspected prostitution operations were taking place.

Moon Township Police Chief Leo McCarthy says nine people are in custody in Moon Township and two people in Monroeville. All of the people arrested are women.

They've been under investigation since May.

Prostitution and corruption charges could be filed.
