Fatal Shooting Leads To Chase In Monroeville

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) ― One person is dead after a shooting in Monroeville that led to a high-speed police chase through the area.

It began around 4 a.m. at a home in the 400 block of Fieldstone Drive in the Garden City area.

As officers showed up on the scene a Silver Chrysler PT Cruiser was seen speeding away from the scene.

One of the suspects in the vehicle fired shots at an officer.
 
No police officers were hit.

Police say the suspects went through Penn Hills and Wilkinsburg before they got away.

Police are now at the home where detectives are talking to neighbors and gathering evidence.
 
KDKA's Bob Allen reports the shooting victim was a 25 year-old black male who died at the hospital following the shooting inside the Fieldstone Drive home.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.
