'Sweater Day' Marks Mister Rogers' 80th Birthday

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― 'It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood,' as Mister Rogers' fans break out their favorite sweaters to honor the late children's television show host.

Today marks what would have been Fred Rogers' 80th birthday.

So the producers of 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood,' say they want people here in Pittsburgh and around the world to wear a sweater to commemorate the day.

The celebration also includes the unveiling of final plans for a Fred Rogers statute near Heinz Field.
