Ex-Trooper Testifies In Ellerbe Trial
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
A retired State police sergeant said he complained to his commander about inconsistencies in the stories of two troopers connected to the shooting of 12-year-old Michael Ellerbe in Uniontown five years ago.
James Baranowski took the stand Tuesday in the civil rights trial of troopers Samuel Nassan and Juan Curry.
Under cross examination, an attorney for the troopers said the former sergeant never mentioned those doubts in a report he completed three days after the shooting.
Ellerbe's father is suing the troopers. He claimed they used unnecessary force.
