Mom Pleads Guilty In Connection To Fatal Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― A woman pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the death of her 6-year-old son.

Mia Marshman pleaded guilty today to involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of children.

Fire broke out inside her Larimer home in March.

Two of her children were able to make it out safely, but her son died of smoke inhalation.

Investigators say the fire was caused by a pot of grease left unattended on the stove.

Marshman told investigators she had been drinking beer and smoked marijuana before she went to sleep.
