Police Seek Leads In McKeesport Fatal Shooting

MCKEESPORT (KDKA) ― It's been more than a year since a local man was gunned down in the street, but police still haven't made any arrests.

Tamir Thomas, 29, of Forest Hills, was shot in the head in front of the Elks Club in the 1100-block of Walnut Street in McKeesport in October of 2008.

Police were in the area at the time of the shooting and ran after the shooter but he got away.

"The suspect did drop several items that were recovered and submitted as evidence," Allegheny County Police Detective Robert Opferman said. "The suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, in his early 20s."

The Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers number is 412-255-8477.  Information leading to an arrest could be worth up to $1,000.
