Contractor Strikes Gas Line In McKeesport

McKEESPORT (KDKA) ― A ruptured gas line prompted evacuations today in a McKeesport neighborhood.

Officials say contractors were working in the street when they struck a high pressured gas line this morning along Brownlee Street and McClary Street.

Authorities say residents from two buildings in Crawford Square had to be evacuated along with four homes as a precaution.

Equitable Gas crews were called in to fix the leak.

No injuries have been reported.
