Clean-Up Underway After Partial Building Collapse

McKEESPORT (KDKA) ― Crews will now tear down a McKeesport building following a partial building collapse this morning in McKeesport.

Officials say it happened at an abandon building. The front of the building is in the 300-block of 6th Avenue in downtown McKeesport.

Authorities report that back section of the building fall into the neighboring Mon Yough Services building. That building and other surrounding buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

"It's typical of an old city where you have old buildings often times the owners just walk away from them and the city is left to deal with it," said McKeesport Mayor Jim Brewster. "My concern is obviously public safety."

Outpatient treatment at the Mon Yough Services building had to be closed while crews continue their clean-up.

There are no reports of any injuries.
