Penguin Max Talbot Shows Off Flair For Fashion
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Max Talbot isn't exactly known for being understated off the ice. The Pens center strides into fashion with the same flair as he does with hockey - boldly. It's no surprise then that Whirl Magazine chose him as their "Man of Style" in January.
But we wondered what makes Talbot so magnetic? We stopped by Moda in Shadyside with him to tap into his off-the-ice style.
"First thing, gotta be comfortable. You have to feel at ease in it," Talbot explains. "Accessories and stuff. That's really important for me. Like the hat, the shoes, the watches and glasses."
But it hasn't always come naturally. Max says his style has been an evolution, especially when it comes to suits.
"Every time I buy a suit I feel like I'm going to the prom. When I was 16, I rent a suit for my prom. And I bought one for my draft--junior draft. Bought a suit for $100. The whole thing. And I had to wear shirts from my brother and stuff," he said.
And while some things have changed, others haven't. His mother comes into town once a month and irons his clothes.
And get this - Max has branched out to not only wearing the clothes he loves, but he's also helping to sell them as a spokesperson for
Gongshow Hockey Gear.

"There's a saying in hockey that goes, 'Look good, feel good, play good.' And you know what? It's totally true," he said.
