DA To Review New Theory In Baby's Daycare Death

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Allegheny County district attorney's office is reviewing the case of a ten-month old girl who died at a daycare center in Garfield in June.

Pittsburgh police said they believed a 7-year-old girl took Marcia Poston out of her baby chair at Bray's Family Day Care and threw her to the floor at least twice while a 20-year-old caretaker was out of the room.

But another theory emerged during the seven-year-old's dependency hearing.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Common Pleas Judge Kim Clark said she doesn't believe the seven-year-old girl blamed in the death, is responsible.

While officials will not comment on this new theory, the district attorney's office released a statement today, confirming that they are looking into it.

According to a statement from DA Stephen Zappala's office, "Our office had previously indicated that we would review any new information brought forward in the death of Marcia Poston. During a dependency hearing, another theory was advocated concerning the death of this infant and our office will review that theory."
