Woman Charged In FBI Agent Shooting In Jail

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Indiana Township woman accused in the shooting death of an FBI agent is now being held in the Allegheny County Jail after being arraigned late Wednesday night.

Officials say Christina Korbe is facing a charge of criminal homicide in the death of Special Agent Samuel Hicks.

The shooting happened during a drug raid early Wednesday morning. Korbe's husband, Robert, is also in jail on drug charges.

According to the criminal complaint, police identified themselves before and while entering the Korbe's home. After the shooting, Korbe called 911 to report that she had shot at what she believed to be a burglar, court papers state.

Her attorney, Sumner Parker, would not answer as to whether his client fired a gun.

"It was a chaotic situation," said Parker, "and my client did some things she thought were necessary under the circumstances as she believed them be."

Before she was arraigned Korbe was taken to a local hospital after complaining of stomach pains while being questioned by police. She said nothing to reporters as he was loaded into the ambulance.

Meanwhile, Hicks is being remembered today by his friends and colleagues at the FBI. His friends say he loved his job and was a great guy and they can't believe he is gone.

He joined the FBI in 2007 and is originally from Westmoreland County. Hicks is survived by his wife and a 3-year-old son.
