Knoll Looking Forward To Voting, Thanksgiving

HARRISBURG (AP) ― Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll says she is strong in spirit and eager to return to work as she battles neuroendocrine cancer.

In a message posted on her official Web site Monday, Knoll didn't say when she might be cleared to return or whether she remains in Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore.

She says her doctors are giving her no timetable for a full recovery, but she is motivated by the thought of voting next week and spending Thanksgiving with her family.

The 78-year-old Knoll was diagnosed with cancer in July and has undergone radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

Knoll is Pennsylvania's first woman lieutenant governor.

She took office in January 2003 and her second term expires in January 2011.
