Kidnapping Suspects Back In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― A man and woman from Ohio accused of kidnapping an 86-year-old woman from the Sugar Top section of the Hill District are back in Pittsburgh in police custody.

Laura Stewart, 72, and Earl Cross, 76, were extradited from Shaker Heights, Ohio.  They are facing charges of kidnapping, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and criminal conspiracy.

Stewart and Cross are accused of duct taping Evelyn Poynter, putting her in an SUV and driving her to Ohio.

Stewart is Poynter's sister.  A friend of Poynter told KDKA that Stewart wanted to bring her sister to Ohio to live with her, but Stewart didn't want to go.

Darnell Randall, 48, was charged with conspiracy for allegedly helping them.
