Defense Rests In Greene Co. Murder Trial

WAYNESBURG (KDKA) ― Closing arguments are expected to begin tomorrow in the trial of a man accused of killing a 12-year-old girl in Greene County and burying her body on a farm in June of 2006.

Jeffrey Martin, who faces murder charges in the death of Gabrielle Bechen, testified that a young man paid him $100 to bury an ATV and that heĀ found a body in the truck.

Both the defense and prosecution rested their cases today.

State police testified they saw Martin lead some of the search crews in Greene County in June 2006 after Bechen went missing.

If convicted of first-degree murder, Martin could face the death penalty.

Stay with KDKA for more details.
