Pick-Up Truck Slams Into Butler County Bank

JACKSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― Police in Butler County say they are questioning a man after his pick-up truck ended up crashing through a bank this morning.

Authorities say it happened at the Huntington Bank in Northgate Plaza located along Route 19 in Jackson Township around 7:45 a.m.

The 59-year-old man apparently lost control of the truck, then it slammed into the front of the building and ended up about 40 feet inside, police said.

According to officials, the man was not hurt in the crash, but furniture and other fixtures inside the bank were damaged.

"We received a call at about 7:45 this morning of a vehicle that had entered the Huntingdon Bank. Upon arrival, the first responding officer, he found a 59-year-old white male occupant inside the vehicle," said Chief Len Keller, of the Jackson Township police. "The vehicle was approximately 42 feet inside the bank. The driver wasn't injured. Obviously, there was extensive damage to the vehicle as well as the interior structure of the bank."

The bank was closed at the time of the crash and police say there were no witnesses around when it happened.

The investigation continues.
